I 1992 reiste han til Sverige da han ble ansatt som solotrombonist i Gävle Symfoniorkester. Siden 2004 har Geir vært 2. trombonist i Kungliga Filharmonikerna i Stockholm.
Han er en allsidig musiker som også gjør jobber som jazz-trombonist og som vokalist. Med sin egen trio lanserte han i 2006 CD'en "Trio Askeladd".
I 2001 var Geir rangert som 196. beste pool-spiller...
Geir Anfinsen was born in Kongsvinger, Norway in 1972.
His teacher at the Norwegian Academy of Music was Ingemar Roos.
In 1992 he got the position as principal trombonist in Gävle Symphony Orchestra, Sweden. In 2004 he started his work as second trombonist in the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra.
Geir is also working as a singer and jazz-trombone player. The CD "Trio Askeladd" was released with his own trio in 2006.
He is also a hell of a pool-player, at his best ranked as number 196 in Europe (in 2001)...
